Nadine Carleta “Deanie” Schmidt

March 5, 1929 — January 23, 2019

Nadine, known to all as ""Deanie"", passed away peacefully at the age of 89, a tragic victim of Alzheimer's. She was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1929 to Clyde G. Lee and Irene C. Aulgur. She later moved to Rocky Ford, Colorado, graduating from Rocky Ford High School. Coming to Denver, Colorado where she became a radiology technician, working at both Presbyterian and Rose Hospitals. It was in Denver where she met the love of her life, Clifford P. Schmidt, and they were married on July 7, 1951.

She was known for her iconic hair bows prominently displayed and always being exquisitely dressed. Nadine loved to both socialize and entertain; holding lavish gatherings for friends, family, and acquaintances. In addition, she enjoyed the Colorado lifestyle and vistas, travelling with family and meeting new friends along the way, golfing, skiing, 10K hiking, and visiting with her numerous neighbors and friends. A devoted homemaker and mother to her kids and grandchildren, in addition to her dog Capri.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford of 28 years, both her parents Clyde Lee and Irene Lee (Aulgur), her brother Dwight Lee, and stepmother LaVerne Lee (England). She is survived by her son, Kevin and his wife Karen, daughter, Gayle Kish, grandchildren Shawn Roberts, Katherine ""Katie"" Schmidt, Grayson Pike, and step-granddaughter Tara Whitley, and sister, Yvonne Rowland.

A private service will be held in February, 2019. She will be interred at Ft. Logan National Cemetery alongside her husband Clifford and near her brother Dwight. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association (www.ALZ.org).
