Nan Jeannine Brashear

November 29, 1942 — January 9, 2020

Nan J. Brashear, 77 of Greenwood Village, Colorado passed away peacefully on January 9, 2020. Nan was born on November 29, 1942 to John and Wilma Gaughan in Des Moines, Iowa.

Nan is an alumni of South High School in Denver, Colorado. Nan also attended both Colorado State University and Loretto Heights. Nan was a doting and loving mother and wife who dedicated much of her life to raising her 4 children. When she had free time, Nan was volunteering at libraries and working in several ministries at Risen Christ.

Nan had an unquenchable thirst for literature and could always be found reading a book. In her younger years Nan was quite adventuresome; Nan played piano, fenced, learned ballet, and painted under the pseudonym GONE. Nan had an affinity for fashion and a passion for shopping. She liked restoring old furniture, scrapbooking, crosswords and puzzles. Nan loved to ski and cheer on her Broncos. But, most of all, Nan loved spending her time with her dogs and family. Nan's warm and generous spirit spoiled all of those around her with affection and made her an easy target for treat seeking dogs.

Nan is survived by her loving husband David Brashear Sr.; children David (Heidi) Brashear Jr., John (Melanie) Brashear, Erin (Colin) Harsh, Brittany (Tyler) Gorham; grandchildren Jessica Brashear, Emily Brashear, Mason Harsh, Braden Harsh, Liam Gorham, Harrison Gorham; grand dogs Mabel, Willie, Toby, Fletch and Mowgli.

In honor of Nan, a Rosary/Vigil service will be held, Monday January 20, 2020 at 6:00pm. The Rosary/Vigil service will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (5303 East County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122). Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday January 21, 2020; 10:30am at Risen Christ Catholic Church (3060 S Monaco Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222), reception to follow. Graveside Service, Tuesday January 21, 2020; 2:00pm at Mount Olivet Cemetery (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033).https://www.ddfl.org/
