Nancy Jane Chapparo passed away on October 25, 2023, in Denver, Colorado. Nancy was born on September 11, 1939, to Margaret and Claude (Gus) Standlee in Pueblo, Colorado.
Nancy attended Centennial High School and Pueblo Junior College in Pueblo, Colorado. On July 26, 1960, she married Ron Chapparo in Phoenix, Arizona. After raising their children, Nancy had a successful career with State Farm Insurance company. As a valued employee, she was called to work on Catastrophe Teams several times. Upon retirement, Nancy turned to philanthropic work. She was a very active member of the Assistance League of Colorado Springs (ALCS) and Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.). Nancy served on many board positions, including ALCS President and the National Leadership Team. Nancy was also proud to serve on the Carillon Residence Council for the past few years.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Ron, parents Claude (Gus) and Margaret Standlee, brother Robert Standlee, sister Lynn Hinchcliffe and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her three children: Kent (Danny) Chapparo, Susan (Jeff) Keller, and Jenny (Steve) Christian. Nancy has two beloved grandsons: Kaden Keller (18) and Gus Christian (9). There are also numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in the extended Standlee and Chapparo families.
Nancy was deeply devoted to her family and her many friends and will be dearly missed.
There will be a celebration of Nancy’s life on Friday November 10, at 10:30am, followed by a reception, at Horan and McConaty 5303 E County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122.
