Nancy Lee Flint, 70, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on Monday, July 20, 2020, due to brain cancer. She was born July 31, 1949, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Lindy and Marlys Lein. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Corbin Cowan and Stephanie and Tim Schierloh; grandchildren Alayna Cowan and Brady Schierloh; mother Marlys Lein; sister Barbara Novy; brother Dale Lein and several nephews and nieces and their families. All of these she loved and touched deeply. She was preceded in death by her father Lindy Lein, sister-in-law DiAnne Lein and brother-in-law Richard Novy.
Nancy had a passion for family. She could be found at every possible family BBQ and took many trips with different family members, normally to visit other family members. Her daughters were the light of her life and the three amigos managed to make a silly scene wherever their many adventures took them which resulted in lots of giggles. Nancy was also an avid sports fan (go Broncos!). She was a University of North Dakota educated teacher and directed a youth program for over 20 years where she made a big impact on many children's lives. Nancy loved dogs and cats dearly and they loved her. She was known for her big smile, her infectious laugh, and her kind and compassionate spirit.
The last few years of her life she proved what an amazing Nana she was and her grandchildren called her by the most enduring name possible ‘Nana Sweetie.' She had many laughs all of her life from start to finish.
She will be laid to rest at the Cremation Gardens in Littleton on July 31, 2020 (her birthday). Due to the current COVID situation, the ceremony needs to be limited to immediate family. Anyone is welcome to visit the gardens after this date to pay their respects to Nancy. Arrangements are being handled by Horan & McConaty Funeral Home where an online guest register is available at www.horancares.com .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Center's Glioblastoma Moon Shots Program cancer research, the Denver Dumb Friends League , or a charity of your choice in Nancy's honor.
