Nancy Mccartney

January 8, 1936 — August 31, 2022

Nancy Grace (Durbin) McCartney was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Nancy, born January 8, 1936, to Edward Douglas Durbin and Helen Irene (Miller) Durbin, and was the middle of three children. She was raised in Waukegan, IL until 1944, when her family relocated to Loveland, Colorado.

Nancy was a bright, loving, and caring soul. Nancy met the love of her life, Woodson “Woody” Henry McCartney in high school, and the two welcomed four children into the world. For a vast majority of her life, Nancy lived in Colorado, although she and Woody lived in California during Woody’s time in the air force.

Nancy loved to sew and go bowling, but more importantly, spend time with her husband, family, and friends.

Nancy passed away, at home, surrounded by her family on August 31, 2022. She was 86 years young.

Nancy is preceded in death by her; father, Edward (1966), her mother, Helen (1999), her second son, Michael “Mike” Lynn McCartney (1981), her husband, Woodson “Woody” (2014), and her brother, Edward “Ed” (2021). She is survived by her; son Steve (Kelly), her daughter, Tina (John), Doug (Colleen) her grandchildren, Shanna, Lorrissa, Christopher, Matthew, Noah and Rianna and great grandchildren, Alex, Isaac, Alyssa, Clayton, William, and Blake and her brother, Cecil Durbin.

She will be dearly missed.

We would like to thank all of Nancy’s caregivers, especially Lisa Grisdale, who went through the trials, tribulations, and triumphs during Nancy’s last few years.

Her funeral service will be held on September 7, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Augustana Lutheran Church, in Denver, CO (5000 E. Alameda Ave, Denver, CO 80246).

“The past is dead and gone,

The future, who can say.

The present hour is to live and love,

thank God we have today.”
