Nancy Pettit Turek

Nancy Pettit Turek (Babcock/Green), age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 28, 2024. 

Nancy was born on October 14, 1937 to Helen (Nesbitt) Pettit and Walter H. Pettit in Washington, PA. She graduated from Washington High School in PA, went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree at Malone College in OH, and her Masters of Education at Denver University in CO. She was a beloved teacher at Juchem Cottages and Sheridan Green Elementary for more than twenty years. 

She is survived by her husband, John, her daughters, Lori Babcock of Wheat Ridge, CO and Tracey Barna (Matt) of Broomfield, CO. She is also survived by her sister Doris Sorice, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Babcock, her parents, and sister, June Turley. 

A Celebration of Life is planned as her ashes are scattered in the Colorado mountains the afternoon of May 18th.
