Nancy R. Weber, 77, passed away August 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore H. and Ethel R. Weber and her brother Theodore. She is survived by her brothers Robert and Joseph, 7 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews and 9 great-great nieces and nephews. Nancy was born to Ethel Ruth (Galloway) Weber and Theodore Henry Weber on June 17, 1937 in Denver, Colorado. Being a baby sister, she learned to be independent in the shadow of 3 older brothers. As a young girl she attended St. Vincent de Paul through eighth grade and graduated from St. Frances de Sales High School in 1955. Immediately after graduating high school Nancy was anxious to begin her professional career. For nearly 40 years she worked for Equitable Life Insurance Company in Denver, Colorado Springs and Fresno, California. Everyone who knew Nancy knew of her great passion for animals, especially cats. There was always a loving feline or two, or three by her side. Once she retired from Equitable she spent her time working as a certified docent at the Fresno Zoological Society. This is where she discovered the adventurous side to her passion for animals, befriending exotic animals like lions, camels, elephants, tarantulas, and pythons. She made the most out of her retirement in Fresno fulfilling her passion for cats volunteering for the California Feline Foundation. She was also actively involved in the St. Paul Newman Center in Fresno. Everywhere Nancy lived, she made wonderful, loving friends. However, being so far from family tugged at her heart. For this reason, Nancy returned to Denver to be closer to her family. She was then able to spend holidays and special occasions with her brothers, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was also able to reconnect with dear friends in Denver and Colorado Springs. Much like in Fresno, it wasn't long before she was volunteering at the Denver Zoo. Here she would greet guests and advise them about the newest animals that had arrived. She also volunteered at the Denver Dumb Friends League where she spent many hours caring for the precious creatures who just needed someone to love them. Not only did Nancy touch the lives of her furry friends, but she touched the lives of family and friends alike. She was always finding the positive in everything and bringing joy to those around. Living a modest lifestyle, she found happiness though a kind heart and caring spirit. Nancy was a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her and be loved by her. Contributions made to the Denver Dumb Friends League in Nancy's name will be gratefully accepted in lieu of flowers.
