Naomi Nadine Gundell, 97, of Denver, passed away February 11, 2014 in Castle Rock, Colorado. She was born November 14, 1916 in Donnellson, Illinois to William and Hattie Mansfield Dunn. Naomi grew up in Colorado and attended and graduated from East High School in Denver. She married Herbert Carl Gundell. Naomi and Herb lived and worked in the Denver area all of their lives. Naomi enjoyed skiing, hiking, knitting, playing bridge and gardening. She and Herb traveled and were hostess' on Garden Tours around the world. Naomi was a member of the DC Chapter of P.E.O. for 49 years in the Denver Area. She was a member of the 10th Mountain Group, Denver Swiss Society, Denver Rose Society, several bridge clubs and gardening clubs in the Denver Area. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Naomi's husband, Herb preceded her in death on May 29, 1989. She is survived by children, Linda (Steve) Jones, of Eagle, CO. and Mark (Debbie) Gundell, of Centennial, CO.; grandchildren, Shawn (Amber) Jones, of Eagle and Scott Jones, of Gypsum; and great-grandson, Simon Jones. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Naomi will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 1:00pm, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver.
