Natalie Carleton Sutherland was born on June 21, 1922 to Robert Earle and Lucy Carleton Sutherland in Plymouth, New Hampshire. She married Parker Bovaird Mitton in 1946 in Stoneham, Massachusetts and raised their family in Westfield, New Jersey. She passed away peacefully on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2015. Natalie was predeceased by her husband, Parker, in March 2014, and son-in-law Duane Edward Moll. She is survived by her sister Edwina Sutherland Randall (Allan); three daughters: Marilyn June Moll of Paonia, Colorado; Terry M. Terry (Chuck) of Centennial, Colorado; and Janet VanGlahn (William) of Dumont, New Jersey; five grandchildren: Laura Coble, Stephen Moll, Mary Moll, Michael VanGlahn, and Lisa VanGlahn; and two great-grand children: Job and Peter Coble. Natalie graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1943. She was editor of her college yearbook. She went on to graduate from Boston University with a Master's degree in Social Work in 1946. She was employed by several Family and Children's Agencies, the American Red Cross Home Service and later became the social worker on a Child Study team in the public schools of South Plainfield, New Jersey, until retiring in 1987. Natalie was also active in the PTA, the League of Women Voters, Girl Scouts, and the American Association of University Women. Natalie and her late husband Parker moved to Venice, Florida in 1987 and traveled extensively throughout the world after retirement. They were also participants in activities and trips with the Audubon Society of Venice. Natalie was a member and elder of the Venice Presbyterian Church, a Venice Hospital volunteer and a Stephen Minister.
