Neal Yancey Price

November 7, 1947 — July 20, 2011

Neal Yancey Price, 63, passed away July 20, 2011 in Lakewood, Colorado. He was born November 7, 1947 in Canton, Illinois to Raymond Lee and Inez Marie Yancey Price. Neal and his family moved to Arvada, Colorado in 1958, where he attended and graduated from Arvada High School. He attended the University of Northern Colorado Greeley and joined the Navy Reserves. He worked for the Boy Scouts of America as a District executive for 9+ years. He then worked in Human Resources for Head Start, in several Hospitals and most recently with Hospice of St. John. Neal also served as Scoutmaster for 5 years in Woodland Park. He is a 3 Bead Woodbadger and has his Silver Beaver. Neal is a member of the Kiwanis, having served three times as Lt. Governor and as Governor in 96 & 97. He has received many Kiwanis awards: Rocky Mountain District Foundation, Lusche, Hixon, Helping Hands, Tablet of Honor, Life Membership and Legion of Honor. Neal has been very active in his Church, serving as a Presbyterian Elder, on various committees and as a moderator. He has enjoyed reading, camping and backpacking. He is loved and will be missed by many. Neal is survived by his loving family, wife, Cheryl; son, Randy (wife, Miranda) Price; brother, Tunney Price; step-son, Ken (wife Mary) and grandchildren Sarah and Kevin; step-daughter Christi (husband Jon) and children Nick and Kimberly; also great-grand-daughter, Alexis; step-son Eric (Katrina) with children Thomas and Amy; and granddaughter, Raya. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011, 1:30pm, at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 11500 W. 20th Ave., Lakewood, CO 80215.
