Neil J Kimmel

Neil Kimmel, 73, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 21st. Spiritual, funny, quiet and kind, he was husband to Alanna O’Meara Kimmel, father to Shannon (Scott Mika), Erin (Simon Hoskins), Ryan and Megan, grandfather to Tyler Mika, Alex Olson, Carter Mika, Kota and Zadie Hoskins. He and his siblings, Mark, Brian, Kay and Gail Marie are fourth generation Coloradans whose parents were Earl “Kim” Kimmel and Gerry Hannigan Kimmel. Born and raised in Denver, he attended Regis Jesuit High School, followed by one year at Regis College before entering the Jesuit Seminary in St. Louis, where he continued his Jesuit formation for 8 years. After leaving the Jesuits, he taught, worked for a land development company and founded his career as a REALTOR® for 40 years. He had a passion for fishing, going to his mountain house, working for homeless causes and caring for the earth. A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 1st at 10:00 am at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2250 S Harrison St., with a reception to follow. In celebration of his Irish roots, please wear something green.
