Neil Martin Krueger, 85, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on April 4, 2014. Neil was born to Elsie and Henry Krueger on September 25, 1928 in Bertrand, Nebraska and was raised in Nebraska and Colorado along with his sisters Maxine and Norma Jean. After graduating from Clear Creek High School in Idaho Springs, Neil married Luetta Stoppel and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He and Luetta were stationed and lived at Clark Air Force base in the Philippines until he was honorably discharged. Neil worked for Sears, and retired after 27 years as a nationally recognized top salesman. Luetta preceded Neil in death in 1992, he is survived by his two daughters, Tamara Maccalous and Kaye Porter, along with grandchildren, Joe Porter, Jeff Porter and Kristen Maccalous, and great grandchild Avery Porter. Neil was blessed to be married to Ann Wyckoff on March 21, 1998, and is survived by her and her children, Maggie Rassette, Mary Orem, and Martha Wyckoff, along with grandchildren, Matthew Rassette, Abigail Rassette, Katherine Pankratz, Emily Campbell, Cathy Steffens, Heather Orem, Brian Orem, Abe Orem, and great grandchildren, Nina Rassette, Maggie Pankratz, Hunter Steffens, Everett, and Landon Orem, Neil enjoyed the Colorado outdoors and all that it had to offer. He helped build the Berthoud and Loveland ski areas and skied for many years with his family. He enjoyed hunting, but his love for fishing trumped all of his other interests. He and his family enjoyed many camping and fishing trips in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Canada. Neil's family wishes to thank the many friends of the family for their love and support through Neil's long illness. A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 starting at 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Horan McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. The Interment will follow the Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Collier Lutheran Hospice Center, or a charity of their choice.
