Nelle Curran Samson

Nelle Curran Samson died in Denver on June 27, 2014. She was born on August 2, 1917 in York, Nebraska. Her parents, Thomas and Mary E. Curran operated the York Daily News Times and Blank Book Co. After graduating from St. Ursula's Academy in York, Nelle worked at the family businesses until May 20, 1944, when she married Master Sgt. Charles Alvin Samson of York. After the end of WWII, they lived in Pueblo, CO and Lincoln and Omaha, NE until they moved to Denver in 1951. Nelle was the mother of three children: Charles E. of Denver, John T. (Carol) of Denver, and Kathryn Guese (Dr. Michael) of Denver. Her 70th wedding anniversary was on May 20, 2014. Nelle was also the grandmother of seven grandchildren: Joseph, Ann, Laura, John, Mary, Suzanne, and Charles. Visitation 4-6 PM Monday, June 30 with the Recitation of the Rosary at 6 PM at Horan & McConaty, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver. Funeral Mass will be at St. Louis Church, 3310 South Sherman Street, Englewood at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 1.
