She was born in 1918 in rural Forrest City, Arkansas to Elby and Levenia (Price) Lewis, she was the youngest of 3 daughters.
She lived on a farm and attended a one room school in the Tuni Community until 7th grade. She was then bused to Forrest City and graduated in 1938.
She was chosen as the Peach Festival Princess for Madison, a neighboring town in 1936. She attended Draughon Business College where she received a lifetime scholarship.
She worked at numerous office jobs around the county including Arkansas, California, Washington D.C., and Colorado, the last being bookkeeper for Mutual Construction Company of Denver retiring in 1972.
Her and her sister, Ethel were best of friends. She loved clothes, shoes, and jewelry. She liked to go out to eat, going on tours and taking trips with the seniors and friends.
She married Ernest Polda in 1944, they had one daughter, Elaine. They divorced in 1963. She was married to Arthur Bronson in 1968.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, husband, and Sammie her beloved dog. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine, son-in-law, Steve Spenard and good friends, Shirley, Dorothy, Gene and Margie.
