Nelson Chamberlin George was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on September 26, 1914. Nelson held several executive positions throughout his career at United States Steel and was appointed Chief Metallurgist at the Gary Indiana facility. Nelson served as elder in the local Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg and enjoyed active participation in the St. Petersburg Kiwanis Club being awarded the honor of 'Layperson of the Year.' Upon his second retirement, the Georges moved to Denver, CO to be near their daughter and son-in-law. Following 63 years of marriage, Ruth passed away in February, 2003.
