Neola Gantenbein

It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Neola Ellen Cundiff Gantenbein on February 12th, 2021. She was 95 years old. Neola was a proud mother, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother who deeply loved her family.

She was born on a farm in Manchester, Kansas on November 10th, 1925. Neola was the youngest daughter of John Henry Cundiff and Margaret Ellen Trott Cundiff. She shared many fond memories of her youth, and Kansas always held a special place in her heart. She taught school in a rural one-room schoolhouse, until she married Dean A. Gantenbein in 1946. They moved to Denver, Colorado where they built two homes and raised four children; Marilyn Dean, Jeanette Sandquist, Mike Gantenbein, and Serina Brant.

She is predeceased by her mother and father, two brothers Verl Cundiff and Merrill Cundiff, one sister Valeda (Cundiff) Hugg, her son-in-law Jerry Dean and her great-grandson Reid Gantenbein. She is survived by her children Marilyn Dean, Jeanette Sandquist (Tom), Mike Gantenbein (Shelly) and Serina Brant (Kim), 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Family was everything to Neola. She remembered every birthday and was known for her handwritten cards that always included a bible verse. She loved the Lord and her strong faith guided her throughout her life. She prayed for each one of her family members every single day. Also remembered for her boundless energy, Neola kept herself busy with several hobbies over the years. She especially enjoyed collecting antique dolls and beautiful glassware. Her fun-loving spirit and contagious laugh will be greatly missed.

While saddened by her death, her family is so grateful for the gift of Neola’s life and that she is in the loving arms of Jesus for eternity.

A memorial service will be held on March 27th, 2021 at 1:00pm at Foothills Bible Church located at 6100 S. Devinney Way, Littleton, CO 80127, followed by a reception at The Club at Ravenna located at 11118 Caretaker Rd Littleton, CO 80125.
