Neona Pearl Pierce

Neona was born April 4, 1925 in Stratton, Colorado. Preceding her in death, her husband Irvin K. Pierce, parents Bitha Scott and Hermon Gade, also sister Genevieve and brother Kenneth. Neona's parents were farmers and lived in the country. Upon her fathers passing Bitha moved Neona and her two brothers, and one sister to 'town'. She graduated from Stratton High School. Neona loved to play basketball and was very good at it. After graduation she moved to Denver and worked at the Union Station during WWII. Neona met the love of her life, and husband of 59 years at a dance at Elitch Gardens when the big band sounds were of a ballroom excitement. Neona leaves to morn her passing one Son and two Daughters. Christine Bird, (Carol Williams), Randy & Marilyn Pierce, Patricia Osborne, (Mark Delmont). Also, she leaves 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Neona loved to grow and groom roses. Her favorite color was green and she sure did have a green thumb! She enjoyed baking, square dancing, sewing, knitting and attending the 4H group. Neona retired from GE in 1988. Retirement was enjoyed by traveling the country with her husband in their mobile home with their camping group.
