We are sad to inform you of the passing away of Nick Spiliotis on Saturday May 23.
Nicholas John Spiliotis was born in Astoria, Queens, NY on St Nicholas Day, December 6th 1929 to the late John and Paraskevi Spiliotis.
He was the first in his family to graduate college, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Adelphi University in NY. He served his country for 2 years in the Army, during the Korean conflict. He was employed by Pfizer and Allied Chemical (now Honeywell) for 28 years.
Nick enjoyed his occasional visit to the horse track and casinos when he wasn't working on his garden and wood working. He made beautiful furniture pieces that we all enjoyed and still have. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed watching their sporting events, being together for birthdays, and holidays for the last 17 years. Family was everything to Nick. His children were very proud of his accomplishments and how he enabled them to successfully create their own families and lives.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Marya, his daughter Victoria McBurney (Richard), his son John Spiliotis (Tina) and his grandchildren Nicholas, Peter and Christina Spiliotis, step grandchildren Ricky and Ryan McBurney, his brother Mark Spiliotis (Athanasia) and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 28 at 12:30 at St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church. Due to COVID -19 regulations, it will be for immediate family only. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Iconography Fund at St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church, 5555 S Yosemite St., Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
May his memory be eternal
