Nicole Jean Marquez

September 22, 1972 — November 13, 2017

Nicole Jean Marquez, 45, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on November 13, 2017. Nicole grew up in Littleton CO, Born Sept 22nd, 1972 daughter to Ernie and Mildred Marquez and younger sister to Todd and Dana. At a young age Nicole was a very talented dancer which led to her competing in the pageant community even going to the Nationals and winning Miss Personality! That personality grew and became very strong and independent. Growing up, Nicole used to love telling stories of how her brothers would put her in the fireplace and how they used her prized dolls as target practice. But she would always get them back by cutting their hair and dressing up their GI Joe's in Barbie attire. Todd was faster than Dana so Dana always had a funny looking haircut. She was very proud of her brothers and looked up to them. Once Dana and Todd got married Nicole got the sisters (Liz and Karen) she never had. Nicole was a proud aunt to her niece Jordan and nephews Zack and Eli and always had a very special place in her heart and she tried to spoil them as much as she could. Nicole found love of her own in her soulmate, Dumarier Wells. His support and love for Nicole was only matched by her will to get better for a future together. Waiting for a transplant is a road filled with many ups and downs and through it all Dumarier was there till her last breath. Nicole's family is so grateful for his love and support and how he encouraged her fight. Throughout her life Nicole was not shy in getting into mischief, her favorite partner in crime was usually her mother. When Nicole and her friends would want to go out and tee-pee a friends house, Mildred would drive them! Mildred would cover for her to a fault, but that is the unconditional love a mother provides. Nicole was a daddy's girl, Ernie was her sounding board and rock, she kept him on his toes but his love and support was always there no matter the circumstance. Nicole got her sense of humor from Ernie and sometimes that was a bad thing. We all recall the viral video of the little boy that had to get her mom's attention, Linda, Linda, Linda, they both loved that video and thought it was so funny. After showing us for the 500th time it had lost its humor, but they loved it. I can still hear Nicole saying Linda, Linda, Linda. I know Nicole is looking down on my parents right now with the biggest smile and is so proud and grateful for everything they have done for her. In the end the disease won, but to see Nicole have the courage and grace has never made her family more proud of her. The Marquez family is very grateful for everyone's support, encouragement, prayers and well wishes throughout Nicole's fight and this past week. We know Nicole is at peace, God Bless.
