Nida Ferne Gates

Nida was born on July 21, 1924 in Denver, Colorado to William and Lillie Sabourin. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 27, 2018. Nida was a tender and gentle soul who prioritized, valued, and loved her family like no other. She was a fantastic cook and a devoted wife to her beloved husband, H. Gordon Gates. Perhaps above all, she will be remembered fondly for being authentic.

Nida is survived by her children, Gloria (Steve) Cross, Gordon (Jan) Gates, and Debbie (Michael) Brownfield; grandchildren, Tiffany Annis, Teggin Huscroft, Jim Huscroft, Lloyd Claymond, Kresha (Henry) Britton, Leonor Martinez, Charity Gates, and Trevor (Katie) Gates; great-grandchildren, Tessa Annis, Rogan Annis, Arden Huscroft, Sloane Huscroft, Skylier Britton, Noah Britton, Jaden Claycomb, Avi Claycomb, Ellie Gates, Finn Gates, and Ewen Gates; as well as her sister, Sylvia Crowl and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nida is preceded in death by loving husband, her parents, her sister Delorise Matthews, and her brother, Bill Sabourin.

A Graveside Service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The cemetery address is 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
