Nora Denney Anthony

Nora Denney Anthony, 89. 9/1/23 - 11/16/12 Nora was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She is the beloved wife of the late James E. Anthony Jr. She is the loving mother to James and wife Elaine, the late William and wife Elizabeth, Douglas and wife Sheila, Shelley and husband Richard Doyon. Sister to Roger Slade and wife Linda. She has many grandchildren and great-grand children, nieces and nephews. Nora and her husband Jim were West High School sweethearts while playing in the school band. Nora played the cello and Jim played the clarinet. Jim and Nora, both veterans, served their country during WW2; Jim a Navy Pilot and Nora an Army Nurse. They married while on leave on June 6, 1944, D-Day. Nora continued her career as a nurse throughout her life and eventually retired from Rochester State Hospital as a Psychiatric Head Nurse. She enjoyed playing Bridge, fishing, puzzles and socializing. Her summers were spent in the beautiful North Country of New York State near the Thousand Islands on Black Lake and wintered in Denver, CO at Windsor Gardens.
