Norena ""Nikki"" Thoma

Norena ""Nikki"" Thoma, of Littleton, Colorado passed away at the age of 95, on June 19, 2019. Born on May 26, 1924 in Armour, South Dakota, daughter of the late Bernard Albert and Emily Mae Halter. Nikki joins her husband of nearly 42 years, Raymond Peter Thoma, in eternal life.

The Halter family held strong Catholic beliefs and Norena was the 7^th born of the 8 Halter children. Their family moved around a bit during the depression and her first job, at the age of 17, was at Erla Sentinel, a radio factory in Evanston, Illinois which did work for the war effort. She married Ray on December 3, 1945 when he returned home from the US Navy at the end of WWII.

Nikki enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles and playing cards with family and friends. She wrote poetry with special poems written for her grandchildren and other family members.

Nikki was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Harold (Isabel) Halter, and Clarence (Rouletta) Halter, Sisters; Mildred (George) Schreiber, Lucille (Frank) deHaai, Lois (Eddie) Quinn, Lenore (Len) Thoma, and Aileen (Joe) Smith, Grandchildren; Kelsey Jean Hays and Aaron Albert Hays.

Nikki is survived by Children; Diana Rae (Robert) Grubb, Kathy Sue (Kent) Hays, Jeanne Marie (Mike) Grenoble, John Paul (Stephanie) Thoma, and Tami Noreen (Joe) Nichols, Grandchildren; Natalie Jo (Bill) Clement, Leslie Lea (Vernon) Hayes, Rachel Mae (Brandon) Kelley, Kyle Cameron Hays, Steven Michael (Laurie) Grenoble, Angela Noreen Grenoble, David Ray Grenoble, Alesha Marie Thoma, Benjamin Matthew Shekon, Scarlett Rose Green, and Sarah Jean (David) Kalkwarf, Great-Grandchildren; Victoria (Layne) Runyon, Zach Clement, Oraylia Bryant, Skyler Kelley, Becca Clement, Anthony Peters, Donavan (Hope) Moore, Izzy Arb, Liam McClure, Lexie Aleba, Nikki Aleba, Samantha Grenoble , Adalynn Grenoble, Zain Grenoble, Christian Kalkwarf, and Avery Kalkwarf, Great-Great-Grandchild Ivan Arb, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado 80227. Visitation will be prior to the service at the same location from 9:30-10:30 am. Private burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery on July 8, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.

There will be a reception to follow the service on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Trail Creek Ranch Condominiums Clubhouse at 4875 S Balsam Way in Littleton.
