Norma Mae (Pearson) Beasley of Denver, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on February 3, 2021 at the age of 95. Her unexpected death was attributed to sudden pulmonary failure.
Norma was born in Denver on October 7, 1925 to Arthur and Margaret Schroll Pearson. She is preceded in death by her two half sisters, Betty Irene Pearson and Elaine Pearson Rima. As a Denver native, Norma graduated from Manual High School in 1943. She married Willis Henry (Bill) Beasley Jr on December 26, 1944 and married at Augustana Lutheran Church in Denver. Following their marriage, they lived for a short time in Kingman, Arizona and Pueblo Colorado. They bought their house in South Denver in 1948 where they raised three sons; Bill, Craig and Mark and Norma lived there for 73 years.
Norma had incredible energy and passion for living fully which were hallmarks of her life. Some of her most cherished accomplishments included returning to Arapahoe Junior College and earning an AA degree in Medical Records which she used while employed at National Jewish, Swedish and Mercy Hospitals. She later became a registered parliamentarian which she applied working with 492 nd Bomb Group of the 8th Airforce , Mount Rosa and Peace Pipe Chapters of the DAR. Her eclectic interest in learning included learning Spanish and Tai Chi in her 90's. She was a role model amongst her family and friends.
Norma was passionate about family history and genealogy. Along with the DAR, her research found family members who were with Washington 's Army at Valley Forge and Descendants of the War of 1812.
Norma was a loving Mother to Bill (Kathi), Craig (Dorothy) and Mark (Janette), She was also a loving grandmother to Matthew, Joshua (Kaitlen), Kevin (Meredith), Madeline, Justin and Chad (Katrina) , along with her many loving friends and neighbors. She will be missed and will always be in our hearts.

The Family wishes a special thanks to the ER and ICU staff at University Hospital Highlands Ranch for the excellent care and treatment they provided at the end of her life. Specifically, thank you to Sara, her nurse for comforting her with dignity and grace and Dottie, the Hospital Chaplin who anointed her and led us in prayer as she peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 6, 2021 at 1:00pm at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado 80122.
