Norma M. Hendry

Norma M. Hendry passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2016 surrounded by family. Her love, laughter and kindness will be so missed. Norma was born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. She graduated from Highlands High School and the University of Kentucky with a degree in Education. Growing up, Norma excelled in dance and was a cheerleader throughout high school. After college, she became an English teacher and cheerleading sponsor. In 1988, Norma married Ray Hendry and moved to Denver with her husband. There, she continued teaching, and later worked for Cherry Hills Christian schools. Norma was consistently an active leader in MOPS and various bible studies. In 2009, Norma earned her Masters in Counselling from the Denver Seminary and became a Licensed Professional Counsellor, serving others in private practice and with the Wings Foundation and Anthem BCBS. Her life was defined by her faith, her family, and her friendships. She had a generous heart and will always be remembered for the love she shared. Norma is survived by her husband, Ray Hendry; their children, Lloyd, Shea, and Griffin; brothers, Kenneth Lloyd O'Hara, William Patrick O'Hara Jr, sister, Sheri Lynn (O'Hara) Dougherty, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Patrick O'Hara Sr. and Norma Jean (Fisk) O'Hara. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15th at 4:00 pm MDT at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122, 303.221.0030, with a reception to follow.
