Norma Jean Skov, 91, of Aurora passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
Norma was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 25, 1931, the only child of Jasper and Ethel (Fleming) Breitenstein. She married the Reverend Frederick A. Skov on July 31, 1955, in Brentwood MO.
Norma received a BS in Education from Washington University in 1953. While in school, she worked as a secretary for the Lutheran Student Center and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. In the early 1950s, Norma was a teacher at Bethel Lutheran Church & School in University City, MO and later in the 1960s she was a substitute teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in Rock Island, IL. She was active in the church, teaching Sunday School, Bible class, confirmation class and was an officer and member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Norma enjoyed reading, interior decorating and caring for her family.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Sharon (William) McManus of Aurora, CO, her son, Steven (Kathleen) Skov of Cary, NC, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Norma was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, the Reverend Frederick A. Skov.
Details on a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Horan & McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora CO, 80014.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO.
