Norma Bell Obituary
Norma Jean Bell passed away peacefully on September 10, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born to Fred and Mary Dreis on April 17, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri (or “Missoura” as she pronounced it). She worked for Mountain Bell for 20 plus years. Norma married Edgar Bell in 1956. Edgar served in the Navy and Air Force for 20 years before retiring. They had two children, Donald and Suzanne. Military life allowed them to live many places including stints in California, Florida and Germany. They eventually settled permanently in Aurora, Colorado. Norma always spoke fondly of military life and how much she missed it.
She loved to play the slot machines in Blackhawk where she always seemed to win more than she lost. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for those who gambled with her. Norma also had a love for political conversation. She was always curious about viewpoints other than her own but was never easily swayed. She had many endearing quirks and sayings that she used often. She would always answer the phone with a “Hi honey” when her grandkids called. She loved to dip donuts (or basically anything she was eating) in her coffee and always had some corn with her butter.
Norma took great care of her husband Edgar throughout their 66 years of marriage. She had a generous spirit and was always supportive of her family including her 7 grand children and 14 great-grand children. She will be missed by her family and those who knew her.
