Norman H. Fitzsimmons, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the age of 75. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Shirley, of 55 years, his daughter, Deborah and son-in-law, Roger Taylor, of Memphis, TN, his son, Steven, of Denver, his daughter, Kelly, of Littleton and his son, Alan, of Littleton. 4 grandchildren, Tiffany Young and her husband, James, of Las Vegas, Thad Taylor and his wife, Stefani, of Orlando, FL, Kyle Attarian of Memphis, TN, and Josh Taylor of Memphis, TN, survive him. 4 great-grandchildren, Jay, Taylor, Dino, and Tru Young of Las Vegas also survive him. Norman is also survived by his brother, Richard Fitzsimmons and his wife, Norma Jean, of Fort Scott, KS and his sister, Marjorie Cunningham and her husband, Max, of Hurst, TX. Numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States also survive him. Last but not least, Norman will be greatly missed by his two black labs, Hunter and Skye and his Siamese cat, BJ. Norman, a patriot of patriots, served 22 plus years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1977. Most of those 22 years were spent soaring the skies in various military transport aircraft. After retiring from the US Air Force, Norman continued his avionics career by working the next 22 years for Flight Safety International and United Airlines. Norman H. Fitzsimmons will be buried with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 11th and 11:00am.
