Eric was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN and went to Indiana State University for one year and then transferred to Lincoln Christian University, where he met his wife of nearly 40 years. He moved to the Denver area in 1976, and started working for Public Service Co. (now Xcel Energy). He became involved in training and safety, especially focused on asbestos, lead, and mold. He also started two environmental consulting and training companies over the last 20 years. Until his illness made it difficult for him to participate, Eric was an active member and leader of his church, as well as serving on the board of the Colorado Environmental Professionals Association or CEPA. Eric is survived by his wife, Nancee, son Josh, daughter Ashlee Handy (Tom), granddaughter Liberty, and brother Mark Peters of Indianapolis. In addition, he will be sadly missed by his in-laws Rich and Doris Johnson, who loved him like a son. and his nieces Heather Pierce, and Richann Johnson, and nephews Caleb and Daniel Johnson, Services will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, 1/13/16 at Southeast Christian Church, in the Solomon building at 16965 Pine Lane, Parker 80134.
