Odward Ingeman Bredeson, 87, passed away on 23 January 2008 after a brief illness. Born April 4, 1920; Oddy traveled to Rutland, South Dakota on one of the many ""orphan trains"" of the early 1900's and was adopted by Ole & Ingeborg Bredeson. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps including a brief period cleaning the faces of Mt. Rushmore. During WWII, he served as an aircraft mechanic with the Army Air Corps in Egypt. When the war ended, Oddy married Olga ""Helen"" Salthe on December 10, 1945 settling in Worthington, Minnesota. After building his own home from a Montgomery Wards kit, they lived in Cherokee and Sibley, Iowa prior to moving to Arvada , Colorado in 1961. He worked for Gambles hardware stores as a store manager and display superintendent until his retirement in 1985. A member of King of Glory Lutheran Church, Arvada, since 1962; he and Helen were responsible for building & grounds maintenance of the church for many years. An avid woodworker, Oddy enjoyed furniture restoration . After Helen's death in 1999; he hand-crafted hundreds of quilts for Warm Hearts Warm Babies, a Colorado based children's charity. Oddy also enjoyed auto racing and was thrilled to watch his son James win a race, in a car owned by son Theron, with the Colorado Auto Racing Club in 2006. He is survived by sons Theron(Glenda) and James(Kathy). He was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
