Oleta Halley Henry

September 7, 1920 — April 10, 2009

Oleta Halley Henry, 88 of Thornton. Preceded in death by her husband Herbert L. Henry and son Herbert Larry Henry. Mother of Linda K. Henry of San Diego and Rebecca L. Scott of Thornton. Oleta is survived by brother Bill Nichols and his wife Jean of Peoria, and sister-in-law Kathryn Nichols of Mansfield. Grandmother of Sherry (Jitrenda) Chevuru, Russell Staley, Jolynn (Ed) Bartoloni; Step-Grandmother of Lisa (Steve) Petrovics and Robert Scott; Great-Grandmother of Marlow, Brandon, Krishna, Zavier, Brenden and Laydon; Step-Great-Grandmother of Alexandria, Jaycee, Kara, Kayla, Michael and Chloe. Special friend of Sonny Waddle and Diane & Dave Newman. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Oleta was also preceded in death by her sister Kathleen and brothers, Fern, Raymond, Ralph, and Junior Nichols. Oleta worked for JC Penny's as a sales associate. She retired after 11 years of service. She also was a volunteer for Northglenn Senior Center since May 12, 1988. Oleta loved to make homemade quilts and crochet blankets for her children and grandchildren. She also loved to travel to see family and friends. She enjoyed driving to the Rocky Mountains to a small town called Georgetown as well as reading a good book and cooking for friends and family. Oleta was a loving mother/grandmother and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
