Olive Zoe Doehling

Doehling, Olive (Zoe), 87, of Centennial, CO, passed peacefully on March 19, 2017, surrounded by her husband, Don and family. Born in Coyville, KS on Christmas Day in 1929 to Orville and Pearl Hamilton. Zoe grew up on a dairy farm in Kansas and started her early career in Wichita at Beechcraft and Boeing. Zoe was introduced to Don by mutual friends and they married in 1956 in a Colorado Springs Lutheran church. They settled in Denver, CO and began their life together. They were blessed with four wonderful children: Terry, Gary, Leslie and Sandra. The family moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1969 where Zoe began working at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Los Alamos proved to be a wonderful place to raise her kids. Zoe and Don retired and moved back to Denver in 1997. Zoe adored her children and their families and she was devoted to her husband, Don. Together they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July. Zoe was a faithful follower of Christ and cherished her Lutheran faith. All who have met her remember her as a compassionate and loving person. Her bright smile and love for others will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by son Terry L. Doehling; brothers, Robert, Orville, and Dale Hamilton; sisters, Irene Meissner, Winona Guthrie and Florence Weber. Zoe is survived by husband, Donald Doehling, children; Gary Doehling (Olga), Leslie Doehling (Helen), Sandra Pequette (Ronald) and daughter in law, Susan Doehling, grandchildren; Terry E. Doehling, Steven Doehling, David Doehling, Jenna Woods, Ace Artem Doehling, Alexandra Doehling, Luca Doehling, Kyle Pequette and Annalise Pequette, great grandchildren; Aubrey Doehling, Riley Doehling, Reagan Doehling, Brooke Woods and sibling Pauline Rader. Visitation is Wednesday, March 22, 5 – 7 p.m. at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Rd, Centennial, CO. Funeral Service is Thursday, March 23, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 9300 E. Belleview Ave, Greenwood Village, CO. Donations may be made in Zoe's memory to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
