Orley E. Miller, Jr., 70 of Littleton, Colorado passed Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his home after a yearlong battle with Pancreatic Cancer, complicated by a stroke in December. Born in Denver, Colorado on June 22, 1940, Orley, also known as Butch, was the son of the late Orley E. Miller, Sr. and Herma Hastings Miller. A veteran of the United States Navy also a Communication Engineer of the Rail Road Industry, Orley was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Orley loved the mountains, golfing with friends, fishing and working around his home. A talented musician, Orley could often be found singing and playing the guitar surrounded by family and friends. To those that knew him best, Orley was a man of unwavering integrity with a huge heart, who never hurt anyone purposely, as well as a dry sense of humor and a deep love of his wife and family. Orley is preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Kimberle Miller and Holly Miller. Orley is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cathy Miller; one sister Marilyn Harrison and her husband, David, of Yarnell, Arizona; two daughters, Pamela Cassell of Monroe, Georgia and Jeanne Leo and her husband, David, of Littleton, Colorado; four grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Britani Cassell, Jesse Miller and Jordan Miller; one great-granddaughter, Katelyn Wilson; and numerous members of his extended family, as well as a close network of great friends. A Military Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 3:00 PM sharp, so please arrive early, at Fort Logan Cemetery followed by a remembrance, in celebration of Orley's life at his favorite local pool hall, Fox and Hound, 8996 West Bowles Avenue in Littleton, Colorado, at approximately 4:00 PM.
