Orvis K. Bjornsen

Orvis K. Bjornsen was born December 29, 1918 in Colome, South Dakota. The family later moved to Boyd County, Nebraska, where he met his future wife, Myrtle. They married in San Diego in 1942 then moved to Denver in 1944. Orvis ran service staions and parking lots downtown Denver for 42 years. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Myrtle; two children, Kay Crosier and Dr. Barry Bjornsen (Holly); four grandchildren, Christopher Crosier, Kimberly VanEtten, Jason Bjornsen, and Sara Stewart; two great grandchildren, Ryan Bjorn VanEtten and Teagan Kay VanEtten; one sister, Judith Zolo of Vancouver, Washington. Orvis was preceded in death by 12 siblings. Orvis spent his last peaceful weeks at University Hills Christian Center Nursing Care in Denver, under the very loving care of all the doctors, nurses and aides, and the hospice unit. Memorial Services will be at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2400 South Colorado Boulevard, in Denver, Monday, October 24, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gift be given to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (80222) or Hospice of Metro Denver, 501 South Cherry Street, Suite 700, Denver, Colorado 80246.
