Otoniel Lucio ""Tony"" Duran

Otoniel Lucio “Tony” Duran, 95, Of Denver died on Thursday September 7, 2018 at Morningstar Living Center. He was born in Maes Creek, Colorado. His parents were Juan and Lucaria Duran. He was the fourth child in a family of eight children. Tony was a WWII Navy Veteran. Upon discharge from the Navy, Tony and his brother Jim moved to Denver to find jobs. The two brothers met two sisters Carmen and Tina. Tony married Tina Ulibarri on September 4, 1948. Tony retired from Gates Rubber Company after 30 years. He liked to fish, play pool, cribbage and cheer on the Broncos. He was always learning new things and open to new experiences and ideas (he learned computers and Yoga). Tony’s family would like to thank the staff at Morningstar for the loving and compassionate care they provided for their father. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, wife Tina, sister Flora, brothers Francisco, Jim, Frank, and Marshal. Tony is survived by his sisters Bernice and Rose and his daughters Cyndy (Bruce),Donna and Karen (Julia McPeek).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 11, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 7:00PM with a rosary to follow in the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home at Dartmouth and Parker Road. Mass will be said at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
