P. George Castano

The Reverend Peter George Castano, 92, of Denver, passed away peacefully at home May 17, 2011. Fr. George served as the Rector at St. Peter and St. Mary's for 18 years before he retired in 1989. In his ""retirement"" he has been the pastoral assistant at Church of the Ascension. Beloved father of Linda Marie Berg, James Ralph (Sue) Castano, Andrew George Castano and Anna Maria Castano; grandfather of Peter John Andresen, Mark David Andresen, Paul Thomas Andresen, Elizabeth Rusk Castano; great grandfather of Greg Andresen, Noah Andresen, Eric Andresen, Caleb Andresen, Aidan Andresen, Colin Andresen, Samantha Andresen; and brother of Susan Castano. He was preceded in death by his first wife and high school sweetheart Alyce, and second wife Cheryl Ann; as well as 7 brothers and sisters. Funeral Service Saturday, May 21st, 1:00 PM at Church of the Ascension, 600 Gilpin St, Denver, 80218. Contributions are suggested, in lieu of flowers, to Church of the Ascension.
