Pamela Higgins

October 8, 1954 — December 30, 2020

Highlands Ranch

On December 30, 2020, heaven gained a truly remarkable woman. At age 66, Pamela Amanda Higgins passed away peacefully in her home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 8, 1954 to her mom Vernette Amanda Andersen. Her middle name was shared with her mother and passed down from her Grandmother Amanda. She grew up in the outskirts of Chicago with her mother, brother and grandparents. She enjoyed her childhood, whether it was listening to the radio with her grandparents, or fighting with her brother (Keith) to see who had to take the middle seat (hump seat) in the car for road trips, or an accidental burn on her prom dress, she always spoke fondly about her upbringing.

After attending Taft High School, she went to Illinois State University where she joined the Delta Zeta sorority. She had some of the best memories from her time in college and would always light up when she told stories about all the fun her and her sisters had. After 45 + years she remained close with her sisters. Years after graduating, she continued with her education earning an MBA from University of Colorado Denver.

Pamela worked in finance for 40 years where she was a distinguished Financial Advisor. Her clients were a huge part of her life and she spent her career building meaningful relationships with those she worked with.

Her hobbies included reading, scrapbooking, playing card games (especially euchre), singing along to music, enjoying wine, decorating the house, traveling and most importantly being with friends and family. She was part of an extremely tight knit book club and had collected hundreds of novels. While she loved to read, she also loved the book club family that came along with it and enjoyed many fancy meals, bottles of wine, and so many laughs with these ladies.

Throughout her life she was able to travel to many different places including Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Greece, France, Germany, Mexico, New York, Florida, California, and countless more. Her favorite place was anywhere that had a beach and wine with friends and family.

Pamela is survived by her husband Sherman, their daughter Amanda, her son Cody, her step daughter Laurel, 14 grandchildren, several other family members as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother and brother.

She lived a fulfilling life as a mother, grandmother, wife, sister, successful business woman and friend. All those who knew her would know she was a strong, caring, loving, intelligent, fun and genuine lady. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she touched.
