Parley Cherry

January 13, 1926 — March 17, 2012

Parley ""Bill"" Cherry, 86, departed this earth on March 17, 2012. Born in Emmett, Idaho, He spent his youth in Ola, Idaho. Immediately after graduating from Emmett High School, He joined the Army Air Corp as an Air Cadet during WWII. This started a long career in military service. Bill is a graduate of the University of Idaho and was a smoke jumper during the summers. Bill served in both WWII and Vietnam, and was a member of the 140th Tactical Fighter Wing of the Colorado Air National Guard. He retired from military service in 1985 as a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force. He started Colorado Forest Industries, a wholesale lumber company in 1983, located in Denver Colorado. Bill made his home in the Metropolitan Denver area from 1960 until his death. He is survived by his children, Dan Cherry, Patti Christ (Gary) and Pam Myrick (Steve), and grandchildren, Darren (Lisa), Amanda (Matt), and Olivia. Funeral Services is being held on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at One O'Clock in the Afternoon at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227. In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 South Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, New York 10018.
