Patricia ""Pat"" Tourtelot passed away on Saturday, April 25, at her home in Lakewood, Colorado. At the age of 64, she succumbed to complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Pat is survived by her husband, Joe Tourtelot, their son, Joseph, ""Shane"" Tourtelot, of Santa Monica, CA, as well as three sisters, Theresa Marswillo of Little Silver, NJ, JoAnn Crawford of Fair Haven, NJ, and Debbie Miller of Sandy Spring, MD. She and Joe were married in Honolulu in 1969. After obtaining her teaching degree from Monmouth University in Long Branch, NJ, she taught the 6th grade in Fair Haven, NJ. They then started their life together in Denver, and soon moved to Palm Springs, CA, where they lived for 27 years. After Joe's retirement in 1998, they returned to Denver. Pat loved her extended families in California and Colorado, and always looked forward to her flower garden in the spring. Many were inspired by her daily struggles with MS and her ability to make the best out of a life of many challenges. Her strength and continued optimism was an inspiration to all who knew her. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at 2pm, Friday, May 1, at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO. In lieu of flowers, we request donations to either The Denver Hospice, 501 S. Cherry St. Suite 700, Denver, CO 80246 or the Rocky Mountain MS Center, 701 E. Hampden Ave., Suite 420, Englewood, CO 80113. Please click on ""Sign Guestbook"" to leave messages of sympathy for the family.
