Patricia Gene Connelly

April 14, 1928 — February 26, 2017

Patricia Gene Connelly, a resident of Broomfield, Colorado died Monday, February 27, 2017 at Avamere Transitional Care Center in Northglenn. Pat was born April 14, 1928 in Peoria, Illinois to Imogene Henrietta and James Edward Moran. Pat attended Bradley University in Peoria, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1951 and was active in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. After graduating, she moved to the Chicago area (Palatine and Arlington Heights) with her first husband, William Tubman, and had her first two children, daughters Debby and Diane. That marriage ended in divorce, and she married Frank Connelly on January 31, 1968 and cared for his daughter from a prior marriage, Jennifer. Frank and Pat had one child, Rob, who was born in 1969. Pat began teaching third and fourth grade in elementary schools in School District 21. She taught for 32 years, including at Tarkington and Twain Elementary Schools. She retired from teaching in 1985. After retiring, Pat and her family moved to Mesa, Arizona. Past loved sitting in the sun, reading and playing bridge, seeing movies and plays, and spending time with family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved caring for her dogs throughout her life. She is survived by her children, Debby Simmons, Diane Seitz, Jennifer (Steve) Pazderski, Rob Connelly; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Connelly; grandson, Justin Niyork. Pat's family would like to thank the staff of Avamere Transitional Care Center for their care during her treatment.
