Patricia Geraldine Cox (Woods) passed away suddenly on October 4, 2017. She was 62. She was born March 5, 1955 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents James Henderson Cox and Gladys Geraldine âGerryâ Cox. Patricia (Patty) graduated from Southwest High School in 1973 in Minneapolis and attended Colorado State University for coursework and graduated with a bachelors in nursing from the University of Minnesota in 1977. She completed her masters from Cambridge College in Massachusetts in 2012. Patty was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her daughters Hallie Loyal (husband Jason) Kosena, Meggy Marlo Woods, Alexa Cox Woods, her grandson Parker Douglas Kosena and granddaughter Charlotte Loyal Kosena, her sister Cathleen Cox Shepherd, and her brothers James Henderson Cox Jr. and Daniel Halloran Cox. A registered nurse, Patty served in many professional roles over a 30-year career including a love for being in the Operating Room and most recently as a school nurse for Jefferson County School District. Patty loved animals and rescued dogs from local shelters and rescue organizations. She had a special affinity for dachshunds, and most recently adopted two, Arnie P. and ZuZu. She was also an avid antique collector and her home was a museum of treasures. She had a wealth of information on different collectorâs items and periods in history. Her true passion, however, was researching and collecting family heirlooms and documenting her familial history. Patty was fun-loving, silly, and had a great sense of humor. Most importantly, she was a loving mother to three girls and spent her life raising them. She sewed countless Halloween costumes, served as troop leader for multiple Girl Scout troops, and volunteered at her girlsâ schools. Patty loved spending time with her grandchildren, Parker and Charlotte. Her girls loved her immensely, and she will be missed every day. Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, October 16 at Highlands Ranch Mansion, 9950 E Gateway Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Denver Dumb Friends League or Opportunity Partners in Minnesota (opportunities.org).
