Patricia was the second child of Esther Sweeney and Harry O. Lynch. She was born in Longmont Colorado. She had an older brother, Harry O. Lynch Jr., and a younger sister JoAnne Mudd-Miley. Her Grandfather Patrick Sweeney came west on a wagon and was the first train station manager in Lyons, Co. Her Mother Esther was a schoolteacher in a one room school house in Allenspark, Colorado. Her Father Harry was a successful retailer and owned and ran a men's clothing store in Longmont, Harry O. Lynch Clothiers. Always a good student and hard worker she earned a scholarship to CU and graduated in 1945. She used to say she got good grades because there were not many boys around as they all had been drafted or had enlisted. Even as she got older, she remembered going to a big party in Denver right before graduation. It was the Victory in Europe Day parade and party in Denver. After graduation she worked in Denver as an accountant and lived in a boarding house because apartments were scarce after the war. She met Edward, who was back from the Pacific, at a dance and they were married six months later. They were married on April 14 as she could not get away during tax season. And Bruce was born April 18th of the following year. They were married 65 years. Five years later Brent was born and the family moved to Fort Collins. Patricia taught at the new business college at Colorado State University and earned her master's degree in 1959. Her daughter, Marla was born in Fort Collins. The family moved to Denver when Dad got a job with the Air Force Finance Center in a new technology, Computer Legal Information Retrieval. Mom taught accounting at CU Denver and then taught accounting at the brand new Metropolitan State College. She earned her PHD in Business Administration from CU in 1966. She was a professor at Metro and was promoted to the Chairman of the Accounting Department and served in that position until she retired in 1987. Survived by her children, Bruce Duckworth (Karen), Brent Duckworth, Marla Duckworth, Grandchildren Erik Donato, June Kalvelage (Anthony), Nicholas Donato, Jimmy Duckworth, Great Granddaughter Norah Carrington, whom she dearly loved.
