Patricia "Pat" Gatton

Patricia “Pat” Gatton, age 81, passed peacefully on November 8th, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. A proud Colorado native, Pat was born in her parent's home on Grant Street and raised in Denver, where she graduated from Denver South High School. In 2008, after a fulfilling career in circuit board construction, Pat retired. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Pat’s greatest joy in life was her family. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing the bonds that held them together. The Gatton home was filled with love, laughter, and warmth, and was always open to family, and friends. It was a gathering place for many holidays. Her deep love for her children—Dawn (Michael), Wendy (John Sr.), and Jason (Joleta)—was the foundation of her life. She delighted in every moment spent with her grandchildren: John Jr., Tawny (Adam), Tyler (Kirsten), Isaac, and Lu, as well as her cherished great-grandsons, Isak and August.

Pat and her husband, Larry, were partners in both love and life, raising their three children with kindness, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to one another. Their home was where memories were made and shared and Pat’s warm embrace and love pats were always at the center. Throughout the years, she enjoyed spending time in the mountains, doing anything from camping to four-wheeling, and scenic drives.

She is also survived by her two beloved brothers, Clyde (Paulette) and Buzz (Debbie), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who meant the world to her. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Larry, her sister Betty, and three brothers—Corky, Tony, and Charlie—all of whom she cherished deeply.

A woman of incredible strength, grace, and love, Pat’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Others often called her an angel. Her family will forever carry her memory with love and gratitude, finding comfort in the warmth of her love, the kindness of her spirit, and the lessons she imparted to them all.
