The family of Patricia E. (Forbes) Humphrey, of Aurora is saddened to announce her passing on November 27, 2020 at the age of 96.
Pat was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the 13th of June, 1924 to Frank W. and Catharine Firth Forbes. As a child her family moved to Grand Lake Colorado and on to Denver. A graduate of Cathedral High School in Denver she went on to work at Gates Rubber Company for 35 years and retired as an executive secretary to Jere Maxwell, still a good friend. After retiring Pat and Ken moved to Green Valley, Arizona. After Ken passed away in 1994, Pat stayed in Arizona until 2006 and was a part of the Elks Lodge and American Legion until she moved back to Aurora.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by children, Cleveland J. Humphrey (Karen), Craig J. Humphrey (Renee’) and Cheryl J. Bauder ( George). Grandchildren, Mitchell Humphrey, Alexander Humphrey, Jason Bauder, Marisa Lennox, Roderic Burks and Olivia Bauder. Great Grandchildren, Aiden and Addison Humphrey, Ariella, Azuri, Amaliyah, and Abrianna Lennox.
Beautiful red hair, Irish Catholic, she really should have come with a warning label! That beautiful red hair was passed onto her Grand Daughter, Olivia. Her work ethics were beyond reproach, even waiting for about a month when a new boss was introduced, to speak to him and when he asked her why, her response was,” I was waiting to see if you were worthy.”
Her love of animals was apparent as a child and continued throughout her life. Horses were one of her favorites especially because her Grandmother Firth took her to school in Grand Lake, Colorado via horseback every day. Dogs were a part of her life and her favorite was a boxer named Mechi she adopted at a shelter while living in Arizona.
Pat is gone for now but Thank you for all the things that she left behind in our homes, our heads and in our hearts. May you always walk in sunshine, May you never want for more, May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.
A Funeral Mass was held with members of the family at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Parish, on the 8th of December at 11:00 am. .
Private Interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
