Patricia Ann Lawless, age 86, passed from this life into the welcoming arms of our Lord on February 9, 2024. Pat was born to Thomas F. and Rose A. Darcy on February 25, 1937. She grew up in Pueblo, CO and moved to Denver to attend Loretto Height’s College. During her freshman year, she met her future husband, Al Lawless, who was attending Regis College at the time. She left college to marry and start a family which took the better part of a quarter of a century. Pat returned to finish her education at Regis University graduating with a degree in Religious Studies in 1985 and later returned to Regis to complete a master’s degree in Adult Christian Community Development in 1990. Pat then started a new career as a Director of Religious Education at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, continued at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and finished her career at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. Throughout her career and countless hours of volunteer work her gentle spirituality influenced thousands in Denver’s catholic community.
Pat lived her considerable faith on a daily basis taking care of everyone around her. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time and traveling with Al and their eight children. She loved sharing her faith and participated in several small church communities where she met many of her life-long, closest friends.
Pat is survived by six of her children, Jim (Randi), Steve (Leona), Rose (Brad Crimmins), Carrie (Jeff Foster), Betsy (Aaron Moran) and Dan all from the Denver area. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al, sons, Tom and David, her parents and both of her brothers, Tom Jr and Mike.
For anyone that knew her there was always a wholesomeness about Pat; a completeness that filled in the gaps.
Psalms 23:6 states it well: Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Pat is deeply loved and will be missed.
