Patricia Morris

Patricia (Pat or Patsy) Sue Dawson Morris, 74, of Littleton, Colorado, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away July 17, 2022, following her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Pat was born Friday, February 13, 1948, in Ogden, Utah at the McKay Dee Hospital to Harold John and Doris Marston Dawson as the youngest of five children.

Patsy grew-up on a small farm in Layton, UT on Church Street. She regularly helped with farm work, including bee keeping with her Dad, enjoyed spending time with her family, and playing with her cats. Pat has always been involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed being with her neighbors and friends in the Church. She attended school and graduated from Davis High School. In 1968, she married Del in the Salt Lake Temple and together they had two children, a son Sean and daughter Julie, and six grandchildren. Throughout Pat’s life, her children and grandchildren were her delight and she enjoyed being with them as much as possible. The family enjoyed many vacations together camping, boating, and visiting family.

Pat served her friends and neighbors in many church positions including:  Primary President and teacher; young women’s advisor and counselor, serving in the Kitchen and teaching quilting to the young women on many Girls’ Camps; Relief Society presidency member multiple times; Family History Librarian for many years; and as a diligent visiting teacher and ministering sister. She also served faithfully in the Denver Temple for many years.

Pat and Del enjoyed serving a church mission in Scotland working in the National Archives of Scotland and as a member of the young women’s presidency in the Dunfermline Ward. She grew to love the Scots and particularly the young women she served.

Some of Pat’s favorite adventures included trips with special friends to Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Mexico, Guatemala, Spain, the Mediterranean, and Hawaii. At home she enjoyed gardening; family history; crafts – especially quilting, scrapbooking, sewing; water walking, aerobics, and breakfasts with close friends. She enjoyed teaching her kids and grandkids to cook and enjoyed eating those meals together. During Christmas, Pat always had friends and family over to make gingerbread houses with plenty of candy.

Pat is survived by her loving family: husband, Delbert (Del) Alan Morris; son, Sean Delbert Morris (Laurie); daughter, Julie Anne Morris Sensanbaugher (Ken); grandchildren: Rebecca Lee Morris Bressler (Brennon), Joshua Alexander Sensanbaugher, Caleb Morgan Sensanbaugher, Andrew Sean Morris, and Abigail Sue Morris; brother, Mark Dawson (Bernita); and sister, Karlene Dawson Greenwood. Pat was preceded in death by her grandson, Gavin Keith (GK) Sensanbaugher; and sister, Joyce Dawson Barker (Gary); and brother, Lowell Dawson (Joyce).

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 6-8pm, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO  80227.

The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11:00am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6705 South Webster Street, Littleton, CO  80128. A viewing will also be held at the Church on Saturday, from 10-10:45am.

A private burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO.
