Patricia (Pat) C. Stirling, 76, of Highlands Ranch, passed away on 07/14/2023 after a long and rich life as the result of several recent health complications. Pat is remembered for her immense dedication to family as a beloved wife, mother, and a very proud grandmother.
Pat was born on 10/03/1946 to Earl and June Menard on a farm in Concordia Kansas. The family moved to northern Colorado and finally settled in Loveland, Colorado where she graduated from Loveland High School in 1964. Pat attended a floral vocational school and became a florist in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Denver areas.
In Loveland in 1968, Pat met Thomas (Russell) Stirling who tried to impress her by driving a fancy sports car. It must have worked, because Pat and Russell went on to get married on Valentine's day 2/14/1969 . Pat and Russell moved to Denver and went on to have two extremely awesome sons, Jonathan and Christopher.
During the childrearing years, Pat worked as a vocational specialist at Denver Public Schools at both John F. Kennedy and CEC High School where she made many lifelong friends. The pair then moved to Salt Lake City in 1992 for Gates Rubber Company but then returned to Highlands Ranch in 1996 where Pat continued working for the Denver Public School system and ultimately retired from Denver’s South High School.
Pat was known for her interest in many forms of crafting including floristry, ceramics, painting, card making, and scrapbooking. After her start as a florist, she then expanded her hobbies into the other craft areas . Pat often crafted for close friends and families during the holidays who were never sent home without a new decoration. She is also known very well for her love of New Mexican cuisine and for making delicious chili rellenos.
Pat’s pride and joy are her grandchildren. After retiring from DPS, she nannied the grandchildren for both families. She loved taking care of them and participating in as many of their events and activities as she could.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Thomas Russel Stirling in 2011. She is survived by Michael(brother), Nancy(sister in law), Jonathan (son, 51) and his children with Tammy, Jackson (grandson, 15) and Samantha (granddaughter, 15), as well as Christopher (son, 49) and his wife Lisa (daughter in law), and their children Marshall (grandson, 14) and Margaret (granddaughter, 12).
