Patricia Claire Schultheis

“On the evening of Sunday, October 27th, Patricia “Pat” Claire Schultheis of Lakewood, Colorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 84, surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born on December 15, 1934, in Montpelier, Vermont, to Col. Malcolm Everett Craig and Irma Claire Craig. As an army brat, she called many places home including: Omaha, Laramie, Atlanta, San Francisco, San Diego, and Chicago. Some of her fondest memories were in Osaka, Japan, where her father served as Governor after World War II. She graduated from the University of Wyoming, and soon after, she married Robert ""Bob"" W. Schultheis on December 17, 1954. Pat and Bob moved to Lakewood, CO, in 1960, after adopting their son, Craig, and before adopting their daughter, Claire. Pat worked as a teacher for the Hadley School for the Blind and continued to use her knowledge of sign language up until her last breath. She was a loving mother, doting grandmother, and engaged civil servant-spending many years volunteering at schools, shelters, and on political campaigns. She was also a devoted member of Bear Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she attended for over 50 years as a faithful prayer warrior, Stephen Minister, and bible study leader. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Her joy and humor will be sorely missed by her son, Craig Schultheis, her daughter and son-in-law Claire and Darren Richie, and their five daughters Jessica, Nicole McMahon (Mark), Cassidy Reuter (Michael), Lindsey, and Jordan, as well as by her very favorite brother, Malcolm Everett Craig (Carol) and her many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for Patricia will be held at The Bridge Church (3101 S. Kipling St., Lakewood, CO 80227) on Saturday, November 2nd at 2PM with a reception to follow.
