She was preceded in death by her parents Maragret and Gail Shapard and sister Penny Diebert She married Del on August 28, 1957 in Raton, NM. Rarely did you see one without the other. They were best friends for almost 58 years. Through their life together they enjoyed riding motorcycles, they would often go four wheeling and on yearly vacations with Rick. Patsy had an incredible zest for life. She was always very happy and found joy in everything she did. Patsy's favorite time of year was Christmas. Some of the best gifts Patsy ever received were her granddaughters and great grandson who brought much joy and excitement to her life. She relished the time she could spend with them and was very proud and pleased to be a grandma. Patsy's family meant so much to her, she always wanted to make sure they celebrated birthdays, special events and holidays together and she never failed to say ""I love you"". She loved and cared deeply for her family and friends. One of her greatest joys was to spend time with her sisters weekly at what they call ""granny day"". The ""sisters"" would get together, have lunch and work on ceramics and quilting. Patsy especially loved painting ceramic nativity sets and knitting stuffed animals. Patsy also had a great love for animals. She supported several Humane Societies and the Cat Care Society. She had dachshunds and a German Shepard, who thought she was a dachshund. In her later years she enjoyed their two cats Emmitt and Baxter. Emmitt passed away at age 18 and so Patsy recently rescued a kitten. Patsy was an absolute delight to be around and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
