Patricia Ann Stapleton

April 7, 1932 – January 31, 2013 Patricia Ann Stapleton, formerly of Bloomington, Indiana, died Thursday at St. Andrew's Village in Aurora, Colorado. She was born in Bellevue, Ohio, the daughter of Leonard W. and Audra E. (Day) Skelley. She grew up in northwest Ohio, and was a 1950 graduate of Van Wert High School. She had been an administrative assistant in the chemistry graduate office at Indiana University until she retired in 2002. She was a member and chairman of the Monroe County Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Additionally, she was active in Republican Politics and an adult leader with Cub Scouts, where she received the Boy Scouts of America's Silver Beaver Award in 1963. Survivors include her son Jeff Stapleton and his wife Terri of Centennial, Colorado; a brother Robert Skelley of Newberry, Florida; two grandsons, Tyler and Kiefer Stapleton, both of Centennial, Colorado; and numinous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 48 years, John T. Stapleton, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at St. Andrew's Assisted Living, 2670 South Abilene Street East; Aurora, CO 80014. Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, later this year.
