Patrick J. Carroll

Patrick J. Carroll, 69, of Highlands Ranch, CO passed away at 12:50 P.M. Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 on a beautiful mountain in the Colorado Rockies. Patrick was born on March 16, 1946 in Peoria, IL, to the late Orville and Margaret (Schiefling) Carroll. He married Constance ""Connie"" Jeneson on August 16, 1969 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Tim (Heather) Carroll of Lakewood, CO and Steve ""Kirby"" Carroll of Littleton, CO and four grandchildren, Coleton, Cian, Ava and Connor. He is also survived by his sister Barb Maier, of Eugene, OR and his brother Steve Carroll of Sperryville, VA. His parents and two brothers, Bob and Jim, preceded him in death. Patrick graduated from Spaulding Institute in 1964. He attended Canton Community College and graduated from the University of Illinois School of Pharmacy in 1970. Patrick worked as a pharmacist for over 40 years including owning his own business (Carroll's Pharmacy – Peoria, IL) for 17. During his work tenure Patrick also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 7 years. Patrick was a member of the Central Illinois Pharmaceutical Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Notre Dame High School Boosters Club, the Colorado Mountain Club and also volunteered at the Children's Hospital of Colorado. In addition to having a passion for motorcycles and airplanes, Patrick loved adventure. During his retirement Patrick traveled extensively and spent many hours exploring the Colorado Rockies. Although Patrick cherished many things his greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria, IL. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at St. Philomena and a reception will occur immediately following at Weaver Ridge Golf Club. Private burial of ashes will be in St. Josesph's Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peoria Notre Dame High School scholarship fund.
